2nd International Conference on Curriculum, Teaching and Textbook Research
: Responding to the Intelligent Age

   Modern schooling has changed dramatically when the digital media and smart technology are deeply affecting schools and publishing industry. Teaching, learning and the environments in which they occur need to adapt to the modern world and equip students with the knowledges and skills they need to prepare for the upcoming future. 
      However, barriers to preparing students adequately for a global economy and society remain persistent as overcoming the barriers require the researchers, educational practitioners and publishers of textbooks to reconsider their mission and make changes responding to the changing educational world. This calls for the change in curriculum, classroom instruction and conventional textbooks. Meanwhile, we also need to rethink the standpoint, values and methodology towards to the smart technologies in schools from the perspectives of ethics, culture and curriculum theories, which promote to answer the complex questions.
    In order to address different challenges and opportunities for innovative teaching and learning, the 2nd International Conference on Curriculum, Teaching and Textbook Research (ICCTT) will be organized by the Institute of Curriculum & Teaching, Beijing Normal University and held on 20th -21th, November, 2019. It will bring together leading scholars, educators, school principals, education administrators and publishers across the world to share insights, advanced research findings and lessons learnt in the fields of curriculum, pedagogy and textbook publication. 
    Individual paper presentations from different parts of the world are welcome. The programme of ICCTT 2019 will be based on the overarching theme of Curriculum, Teaching and Textbook Research: Responding to the Intelligent Age, with three sub-themes: 
          1)  Globalization and localization for the curriculum changes in the intelligent Age
          2)  Cross-discipline, teaching and learning in the intelligent Age
          3)  Publishing and studying of the textbook for the future

     We welcome contributions in the following forms:
     )  academic papers based on research or scholarship;
     )  case studies of practice in schools, communities and formal and informal education settings;
     )  reports of projects and initiatives at local, regional, national or international levels.
     
     This conference will provide insights into theory and practice relevant to understanding curriculum changes, classroom learning and textbook study in the intelligent age for the future development in education. Therefore proposals are welcome from:
     )  academics,  researchers, master and doctoral students  in education, sociology, technology and other relevant disciplines;
     )  teachers, teacher educators and other educational practitioners;
    
     All papers will be placed within one of the three academic strands listed above. Please use these to guide the development of your submission.

Submitting a paper
    If you wish to submit a paper to the conference, please send us an abstract of about 500 words in English at http://www.bnuicp.com by 8 October 2019. All abstracts will be peer reviewed, and contributors will be notified of the outcome by 20 October 2019.

Abstract in English (about 500 words): The abstract should summarise a full paper, drawing out the salient issues briefly and succinctly.
Research based abstracts should include the following sections: Context/Research questions and/or aims/Methodology/ Key findings/Recommendations and/or implications.
Practice based abstracts should cover: Context /Innovation/intervention/project aims/innovation/intervention/project outline/Evidence of impact / Recommendations and/or implications.

     Authors will be notified of the outcome of their abstract submission by 20 October 2019.
