         Dr. Li Jiayong is an associate professor of Education at Beijing Normal University. He got a Bachelor’s degree (1986) in English Language and Literature from Shandong University and a Master’s degree (1989) and Ph.D. (1999) in International and Comparative Education from Beijing Normal University.

         Dr. Li has been doing teaching, research and administration at Beijing Normal University for more than twenty years. He was the Deputy Director of International and Comparative Education Research Institute (1999-2001), Associate Dean of the School of Education (2001-2007), Academic Registrar of Beijing Normal University-Hong Kong Baptist University United International College (2007-2009). He is currently Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Education at Beijing Normal University.

         Dr. Li’s research interest is in international and Comparative Education, with special focuses on teacher education, curriculum studies, and private education. He used to be a member of the Expert Committee for Curriculum Reform sponsored by the Chinese Ministry of Education. He is also editing a Journal of Educational Studies published in Beijing.

         Dr. Li has published more than twenty articles and consultation papers in the filed of international and comparative education. He also authored and co-authored more than ten books, including one originally in English and published by UNESCO-IIEP (1994).

         Dr. Li Jiayong has extensive experience abroad either as visiting scholar or for joint research programs. He was a Fulbright Scholar (1997-98) at Michigan State University. The countries he has visited include the United Kingdom (1992, 2004, 2006, 2010 ), Japan (1995, 2001, 2006, 2010), The United States (1997, 2002, 2010, 1014), Australia (2001, 2013, 2014, 2016), Thailand (2001), Netherlands (2002), Switzerland (2002), Finland (2002, 2013), Austria (2004, 2012), Canada (2004, 2011.2016) Viet Nam (2005), Korea (2006, 2014, 2015), Sweden (2010) , Singapore (2010, 2013), India (2016) and Indonesia (2016) He has made English presentations at international conferences, symposiums, and seminars held in Japan (1995), Beijing (2002), Vienna (2004), Korea (2006) and Stockholm (2010).
