Capital Institute for Higher Education Research (CIHER)

Founded in 2010, the Capital Institute of Higher Education serves to carry out research on the development of higher education in Beijing. It strives to turn into an important policy advisory agency, a distribution center for college teaching experiences, and a hub for international academic research on higher education.

In 2012, the Teachers’ Professional Development Center was established with the intention of sharing experience, providing professional guidance and carrying out international academic exchanges. It conducted research in students’ enrollment, teachers’ professional development, internationalization of education and macro strategy of higher education and provided advice and training for young teachers to promote their professional development. In addition, it cooperated with MyCOS to investigate college teachers’ professional development.
