National Assessment of Education Quality (NAEQ)


National Assessment of Education Quality was established on November 30, 2007 based on the request of the SCOPSR and the Ministry of Education to set up the standards for assessing education quality, to invent tools for assessing education quality, to implement national assessment of education quality, and to provide technical support and operational guidance for central and local education departments to conduct the quality assessment.

At present, the quality assessment is mainly concerned with students’ moral education, physical and mental health, academic achievement and aptitude, art talent, capability of work and innovation as well as educational and social environmental factors that influence the development of students. The accurate reports regarding all the six aspects aforementioned will provide valuable information and reference for policy-making and at the same time, provide some guidance for parents, teachers and schools to understand better the status quo of education in China and help build the assessment network across the country.
