Vice Dean of IOE Visits FOE Published:2016-11-11 14:53:29  Views:10


On the afternoon of October 25, 2016, Dean Zhu Xudong met with Vice Dean for International Affairs of IOE Prof. Clare Brooks and Professor in Education Dr. Kim Insley. Assistant Dean Liu Qiang, Dr. Zhao Ping, Ms. Zhao Jing and Dr. Lin Ke participated the meeting.

Dean Zhu expressed welcome to the delegation of IOE. Assistant Dean Liu briefly introduced the progress of the 6th Biennial BNU/UCL IOE Conference, and made proposals about some details to be decided. Clare decided to take the information back to IOE and discuss with the conference committee.

Dean Zhu said that one of the strategic directions of FOE is to realize Internationalization. He proposed a few possible areas for cooperation with IOE, such as joint research, joint publication, joint degree programs, student exchange programs etc.

Clare pointed out that FOE and IOE had been friends for a long time and the friendship is very important for IOE. She hoped that with the appointments of the new dean of FOE and the new director of IOE, the friendship between the two institutes will continue to be strong. IOE is open to discussion of ways to work together with FOE, such as joint publication and joint authorship and many other things mentioned by Dean Zhu. Both sides will continue to work together to promote the partnership.

Ms. Zhao Jing introduced to the delegation about National Training Center for Primary School Principals, MOE. Clare was very impressed by the scale of NTCP, and she found many similarities between the work of NTCP and that of their London Center for Leadership and Learning (LCLL). Both sides hoped to have more collaboration on principals training in the future.
