The 2nd BNU-UoC-QUT Doctoral Forum was held successfully from April 30th to May 5th in Calgary, Canada. 5 students from Beijing Normal University (BNU) went to University of Calgary to attend this forum.

The theme of this year’s forum was Transcultural Perspectives – Australia, China and Canada. During this forum, 14 PhD students and 6 professors from three universities participated in small group discussions and presented their ideas to the big whole group. The students were prepared with the 4R-Models to reflect on their academic work and discuss similar topics from different points of view. Moreover, they visited aboriginal schools and museums located in the eastern part of Calgary. During the 6 days of communication, students from BNU, UoC and QUT built friendship and broadened their horizons. The participants experienced cross-cultural differences at specific academic sites and learned research methods together under the guidance of the professors who offered academic supports during the forum.

At the end of the forum, the students attended the IDEAS Conference, which was held in the University of Calgary.
